Welcome, friend!
I’m Jenn!
I was born in Chengdu, China, but was adopted and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee in the US. I grew up traveling with my family, but my burning love for travel started my freshman year of high school when my family and I made the move to California. I realized how much bigger the world is and was hooked on the feeling of discovering new places and ways of life. Fast forward to my adulthood and I’ve studied abroad in Australia, solo traveled around the world, lived in a couple different US states, and I currently live with my husband and cat in Sweden.
I started this blog as a personal journal to document my experiences living abroad and reflect on the little differences I encounter along the way. I also want to share advice on destinations, and provide insights I wish I had before visiting certain places.
Culture, customs, and traditions have always fascinated me. So much so that I minored in Anthropology during my undergraduate studies to better understand how cultures and societies evolve. I love learning about how different communities and countries approach life- it’s a reminder that there’s no single “right” or “normal” way of living. Environmental sustainability is another passion of mine. I recently earned a Master’s in Environmental Science and Policy, and you’ll likely see posts where I explore the intersection of travel and sustainability.
If there’s anything you’d like to see me write about—whether it’s living in Scandinavia, travel tips, female solo travel, or destination advice – let me know!
XO, Jenn
